Do You Need A Road Map Too? GPS & Faith?

Hello to Terrific Thursday!

DO you ever go out without a plan, a road map, your GPS or Directions each day to a place you have no clue "where it is located"? I was recently reminded that sometimes one just has to have blind faith in our travels of life, period; with plenty of daily assistance and asking from a higher power, God. And of course, having  GPS, Road Maps, Directions do help.

A childhood friend of my husband’s surprised us with a quick visit last weekend unexpectedly; a 500 miles trip to our doorstep with only a call, “Can I stop in NOW?”  Our friend commenced  a cross country road trip, driving a 25 year old beat up woody Buick RoadMaster Estate station wagon in the middle of winter, without snow tires, no working left blinker, a bumper barely being help up, and inspection ready to expire, SOON.

Our home was the 2nd stop-over. Provisions were sparse  as were road maps- present- but his destination was firmly planted, being Taos, New Mexico, The Land of Enchantment. We shook our heads thinking to ourselves, "Are you really going to drive out there in this vehicle, "it's winter out there TOO you know".  Well it did not phase him, that he had not much of a plan, except the end result of starting from the end then working his way back. He had sheer determinaion, purpose and I'm sure faith was in there also.

It left me wondering – "How often do we all not  have much of a plan but do but what the heart is calling you to do anyway"?

I dare say, it’s often how I awake.. with my TO DO list disguised as a road map-my recipe being -faith, determination, muscling through and a modicum of self-imposed discipline. My insurance? Add a higher power to cover my back, as I stir with a wing and a prayer. BUT what about when life calls us for those days to travel pathways, highways and daily treks to unknowns outcomes? Would you be able to do such with no well-thought out plan? What if you stumble? How are all things possible? And, just How does that work exactly?  My long road trips are prepared by AAA or at least point of interests carefully plotted in my GPS with the way points to be plugged in for those unexpected stops along the way with managed calculations. And, yes- stopping for directions when needed. Of course, I'm female. I do those things.

Would  a full and trustworthy hope based on true leaps of faith then become your road map? What would you do if you felt the ability to do it in "this faithful way?  I'd love to hear about it!
