Celebrate International Women's Day 100th Anniversary

Today, we find our self  among  thousands of women who are celebrating the 100th Anniversary of International Woman's Day March 8th, 2011. IWD has been observed since the early 1900's with thousands of events held all over the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements with a wide range of events;-from rallies, conferences, networking events, theatrical performances, fashion parades and more. Each year IWD is increasing in status; as the US has designated the entire month of March as "Women's History Month'.

So, ask yourself, what can you do to celebrate and honor the women in your life on this 100th Anniversary? Perhaps YOU- yourself are such the person to make a difference in your own sphere of living this day, this week this month.

Identifying great women, does not require one to look far beyond the boundary's of  their own family or spectrum to identify the extra-ordinary women in ones own lifetime.  I'm sure, as you read this, you can surely determine at least a handful of special ladies that have added to your existence with worthwhile enhancements and helping hands.

Perhaps you have a hero that lives among you- be they "survivor" of life changing and shattering events.How many of us know women that still give more than ever, and take little in return. You might even not recognize that perhaps you too are the woman who others have found that makes a difference in "their" world.  What substance does one need to be deserving of such honor and greatness? To my intellectual way of thinking, being and extra-ordinary woman in today's world is being someone who lives heatedly with an open heart that gives of their self and shines forth a bright future for other women to see that life is worth living. Lives can be brightened, enhancing and rewarding; but we must learn from each other and make our own advances to be of substance. Great women live their life by example, not doing what they say, but living it.

Living well is not sugar coated; and the fluff of life, as surely for so many in so many places and lands, it is a daily certainty of significant struggles. In honor of today; take a moment though to reflect and commit to being a woman of greatness and shine forth your own brightness and lights, with the gifts you can bring to your own world.

Make a point of finding those women in your life you KNOW make the difference and purposely set out to Thank them - via any mode capable. And let's not forget the live act of saying job well done, thank you if possible in the 1st presence of human contact with warmth and sincerity. Act now, and let them know your life has been so touched by their presence.
Look also to the outside world to discover a variety of activities and events happening today and this month by googling and identifying in your own network and  geographic area what are the happenings and events.

So, today or this week, go out and act personally to make a difference; think wide-span reaching, and act locally! Make every day International Women's Day by doing your bit to further the powers of womankind. Empower yourself while empowering others.
